Installing WordPress to start your blogging adventure can initially seem intimidating, but with the right steps and information, it’s pretty easy to do. Before getting started, the best thing to do is to decide whether you want to install WordPress on your own or use a web host that already has it installed, like this company. If you decide to install it yourself, here are some steps and things to keep in mind.
The Best Time to Start a Blog
In many cases, the best time to start your blog is when you have an idea of what it should be about. You want the creative process to be as organic as possible, so don’t force yourself into starting up if you’re not sure what direction you want it to go in.
It’s better for you (and for your readers) if it’s something that has true meaning for you. If that’s not the case, then take some time to brainstorm ideas before diving in! There are two ways to do this- either search Google for WordPress themes or click on Appearance from the dashboard menu and select Themes. Look through different designs until you find one that matches what you had envisioned for your website.
Then just install it by clicking Install Now. After installation, click Live Preview to see how it looks on the front end of your site. Add some posts and pages from the Posts tab to see how it looks with actual content added!
Getting your domain name
When you sign up for hosting, the company will provide you with your domain name. You can also purchase one on your own if you already know what you want it to be. If you don’t know yet, this is the time to research what best suits your business needs.
Once you find the perfect name for your business, purchase it through one of the many domain providers like GoDaddy or Name cheap. They offer a wide range of options in terms of cost depending on how long and how much exposure you want your site to have.
Once all of that is taken care of, it’s time to install WordPress with a Good Theme so that you’re ready when customers start coming in! You must install a theme as soon as possible because having an unfinished site shows potential customers that you aren’t serious about starting your business.

Hosting Your Website
When you are ready, go back to the cPanel, find the section for Software, and then click on Web Hosting. You will see your domain name listed there. The next thing you need to do is go down below it and click on Install. A dialogue box will pop up asking you which Software you want to install.
Select WordPress from the drop-down menu. This will then give you options about what theme (or type of site) you want. If this is your first installation, I recommend choosing the default theme (Twenty-fifteen). After selecting your desired theme, simply click Install. Sit tight while it installs.
Once installed, it will ask if you want to run the installation wizard or not. It might be tempting, but don’t worry! We’re going to use another plugin instead. Scroll down until you see Plugins in the left sidebar, and then click Add New in the top right corner of that box.
It should show a search bar where you can type Installation into – if not, try typing plugin, and it should show up as one of the suggestions. Click install at the bottom right corner of that screen once it’s found and select activate once it’s finished installing.
On the following page, select the green checkmark and then hit continue. To ensure everything is running smoothly, scroll down to find a green button that says Run installation Wizard. Hit this button, and you’ll get another pop-up window with more choices.
Many of them may seem complicated now, but they will start making more sense soon, so just keep moving through these steps like we have been doing until you reach something that looks familiar enough for us to discuss.
Keep scrolling past those sections labeled with gray text that we can skip over because they aren’t important now and when you come across an option labeled WP Meta Keywords, copy whatever’s there onto a note on your computer or phone so we have it ready later on.
Installing WordPress
You can download WordPress from the official website. Once downloaded, extract the files and create a subdirectory for your site. Your subdirectory name should contain no spaces or other special characters. Upload the contents of the extracted ZIP file to this directory.
You can configure your first site by logging in using username admin and password admin. Now go to Appearance -> Themes. Click on Add New. This will display hundreds of themes you can choose from with different colors, layouts, images, fonts, header images, etc. You don’t need to worry about making the perfect decision right now because we are going back into Settings after you upload a new theme that is close but not quite what you want yet.
In the General tab, enter a Site Title and Description. You can also change the Username field to something unique if you’d like – but it’s not required. In the Reading tab, you have options to show or hide text excerpts as well as posts’ authors.
If there is more than one author on a blog post, then both authors’ names will be shown at the top so that readers know who wrote each post. Scroll down to Plugins, where you’ll find several plugins which will automatically display advertisements on your website. For example:
Or, you could use contact forms to get feedback from users and potential customers. Select the Activate button next to any plugins you would like installed. Then click the Install button for any plugins that require installation before activation.
After installation, select Deactivate next to any plugins which were previously activated. Once finished, scroll up and click Save Changes.

You’ll then see all of the ones available that match this keyword phrase. Once you’ve found the one you like, click on the live preview to see how it will look in action before deciding whether or not to purchase it!

Finding a custom design is one of the most important things you can do for your blog. Custom designs come in many different formats, but they all have one thing in common: they are designed to be unique.
If you want to use your own design, there are many ways that you can go about doing this yourself.
